Choosing the motif of dance, which on the canvases turns into countless trials or sometimes even stillness, the artist touches on the content that concerns her and conveys her authorial commentary. Kamila Sitak’s works open up a space for multi-layered interpretation. One can find in them a story about the experiences of a woman who loves movement, ecstatic and liberating, as well as about difficult experiences when one has to face limitations.

Dancers are a significant influence on her work. Kamila’s painting originates from the need to record the emotions and moments in life that are intertwined with dance and other forms of movement. She describes her art as a type of emotional diary. Kamila prefers working with acrylic on canvas.
Drawn from the master’s sculptures, the leitmotif of balancing carries over into the trend of figurative painting, which often passes into abstraction, a puzzling immensity. Creatively fascinated by the process of transformation, she promotes the idea of “interiors to art – art to interiors”, combining painting with running her own interior design studio Artkam.
The artist’s fascination is also equestrianism, specifically the discipline of dressage, commonly known as “dancing with a horse to music.” Kamila Sitak was a member of the National Dressage Team. Her successes in the field of professional equestrianism have given her a good foundation to continue working on herself in her artistic development, as well as the humility and perseverance to continuously improve her craft.

Kamila’s artwork features in private collections in Nigeria, the USA, Poland, China, Dubai. She began showing her work in 2007, and has exhibited in shows in the United States, Germany and throughout Poland. In 2008 she began collaborating with Polish sculptor Jerzy Kędziora to curate exhibitions of balancing sculptures in Poland and the UK, a role she continues to the present. She has also worked as a Curators Assistant at A-I-R at Centre of Contemporary Art, Ujazdowski Castle, Warsaw.
