Ahmed Partey
Statement
Ahmed Partey lives and works in Accra, Ghana. A self-taught multidisciplinary artist, his studio practice spans painting, pastel, wood carving, sculpture, and immersive digital platforms including virtual and augmented reality.
His work has been exhibited internationally at The Gund Gallery (USA), Africa House at the World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland), the Shanghai International Art Fair (China), NFT Paris, and NFT NYC. In Ghana, he has participated in platforms such as the Chale Wote Art Festival and the Afro-Transcendence pop-up in Accra. Most recently, his work was included in Baring It All, a juried virtual exhibition presented by Art Fluent in April 2025.
In 2025, Partey’s work was featured in Artist Talk Magazine (Issue 38) with a double-page spread and accompanying blog post, spotlighting his unique visual language and Afro-spiritual worldview.
Partey’s work has also been profiled in several notable publications, including ArtNews (“10 Africans Using Technology as Their Canvas”), Le Monde, MakersPlace, and ARTYNFT, where he was interviewed on the intersection of spiritual symbolism and digital expression.
In addition to his visual art practice, Partey has collaborated with Ghanaian musician Okaidja Afroso, designing cover art for two of his albums. His digital and mixed-media pieces have also appeared in projects such as the Wrong Biennale (2021–22) and Beyond Provenance, a virtual group show exploring speculative Black futures on the blockchain.
