Through MASIMMO, she develops artistic and commercial projects that move between photography, film, fashion, documentary, and experimental aesthetics.
With a multidisciplinary background in product design, law, photography, documentary cinema, and camera & lighting studies, Márcia has built a creative career across Portugal’s film, fashion, and cultural industries. Her visual language is defined by cinematic composition, natural emotion, and a strong sensitivity to light, texture, and atmosphere.
Her work includes collaborations with film productions, musicians, fashion platforms, cultural institutions, and commercial brands, combining technical precision with an instinctive artistic vision. She has contributed to productions such as Waiting For The Blue, A Mother Goes To The Beach, and Fragmento, while also collaborating with ModaLisboa, Sacoor Brothers, Central Models, and independent cinema productions.
As a director of photography and filmmaker, MASIMMO explores themes of identity, intimacy, memory, and emotional presence. Her portfolio spans fashion photography, documentary filmmaking, backstage photography, music videos, branded visual content, and short films. She directed and produced the short film An Ordinary Summer Day and directed O Segredo dos Pássaros for AGL Productions.
Her artistic practice also extends into the exhibition space, where photography becomes a medium for atmosphere, emotion, and visual narrative. In December 2025, she presented GENESIS at the UNDERCOVER exhibition at Espaço Exibicionista in Lisbon, showcasing medium digital photography pieces that reflected her cinematic and intimate visual language. Her work has also been featured internationally through the virtual exhibition Open Summer Madrid 2025 with the piece Ophelia. In Ireland, her photographic work Horizon Without a Name was exhibited at the Hunt Museum, further expanding the international reach of her artistic practice.
Working across both digital photography and moving image, MASIMMO continues to create projects that merge contemporary art, cinema, and storytelling through a distinctive visual identity rooted in authenticity and cinematic sensitivity.
