Paolo Prisco
France,
Some images capture a moment; some breathe it.
CV
Bio
Paolo Prisco is an Italian fine art photographer living and working in the South of France, on the border of the Principality of Monaco. Originally from Milan, he studied philosophy at Milan’s State University before working as a fashion and textile designer, then as a make‑up and beauty photographer.
Today his practice moves beyond traditional fashion imagery into a more experimental, painterly territory. Through controlled movement, intentional blur, color divergence and altered backgrounds, Paolo creates photographs that hover between reality and hallucination, exploring the duality of feminine identity and the tension between appearance and inner life. His studio’s extensive collection of vintage clothing and accessories plays a central role in building these dreamlike characters and narratives.
His work has been described as having an “authentic and dreamlike approach to photography” (Curatone Art Team, Berlin) and as exploring “the duality of feminine identity through a bold use of color and movement, creating a visually intriguing and dynamic effect” (Dantebus Photographic Award, Rome). His work has also received positive feedback from 3×3, The Magazine of Contemporary Illustration (Brooklyn, New York).

CONCEPTS & MORE
What the story behind my images?

The image captures a moment where motion becomes memory. Two figures, suspended between reality and dream, surge through color and light as if the screen itself is breathing. The longer exposure blurs their forms into ribbons of vitality, revealing the energy that animates fabric, hair, and skin. I approached the scene with a hands-on, tactile method: soft key light to sculpt faces, backlight to carve edges, and deliberate color shifts—warm amber for tenderness, cool blue for mystery. The result is a surreal duet of presence and illusion, inviting viewers to step into a space where movement outpaces language and feeling takes center stage. This work is a meditation on freedom—from glossy conventions, toward a personal, dreamlike truth.
